The interactions between cellular compositions of the tumor microenvironment (TME) are increasingly recognized as major determinants of tumor progression. Recently, the rapid development of single cell sequencing technologies has revolutionized our understanding of the biological characteristics and dynamics of the entire tumor ecosystem, such as mechanisms of intratumoral and intertumoral heterogeneity.
