There is an urgent and continued need for translating basic cancer research (discovery) results into improved care for cancer patients, and better interventional tools to cure and/or prevent cancer. An ultramodern core resource has been established, the North Texas Clinical Pharmacology Cancer Core, to help basic cancer researchers and physicians better test and understand new drugs or therapies. Such testing assists investigators to better understand how cancer drugs move in the body, how the drugs treat cancer, how to best deliver these drugs, and how to avoid unwanted side effects.
