Need: Texas Cancer Registry data indicate that compared to Harris County and the state of Texas, Nacogdoches and Shelby counties report higher incidence and mortality attributed to CRC. For the years 2012-2016, the age-adjusted incidence (per 100,000 population) attributed to CRC was significantly higher for Nacogdoches and Shelby (45.7 per 100,000; 45.1 per 100,000, respectively) compared to Harris County and Texas (38.0 per 100,000; 37.7 per 100,000, respectively). Significant disparities can also be observed for mortality rates.
