TSHN collaborates with Texas’ 20 Educational Service Centers (ESCs) to assist local school districts in implementation of coordinated school health programs using the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s coordinated school health model. Each ESC has a School Health Specialist (Specialist) who provides in-service training, workshops, and technical assistance to school districts utilizing resources on a variety of health topics. Topics and types of services provided by Specialists are dependent upon needs assessment results of each region.
