Dr. Yiwen Chen received his Ph.D. from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where he developed and applied cutting-edge computational methods to study protein biophysics and structural biology/proteomics.

He subsequently joined Dana Farber Cancer Institute and Harvard School of Public Health, under joint supervision by Dr. Myles A. Brown and Dr. X. Shirley Liu. In 2015, Dr. Chen received a First-Time Tenure-Track Faculty award from the Cancer Prevention and Research Institute of Texas, and joined the faculty of UT MD Anderson Cancer Center. His laboratory at MD Anderson focuses on develop cutting-edge computational methods/biomedical informatics technology and genomic approaches to systematically decipher the function and mechanism of RNA-based gene regulation in the context of cancer biology and cancer immunology.
