Cancers are commonly diagnosed based on alterations to cell- and tissue-structure. Dr. Lele is unraveling how such structural alterations emerge through changes to the mechanical properties of cells and tissues. The ultimate goal of his work is to develop new therapies to combat cancer. He is currently the Unocal Professor of Biomedical Engineering and Chemical Engineering at Texas A&M University.
