Siyuan Zhang, Ph.D., M.D., is an associate professor in the Department of Pathology at The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center. Dr. Zhang received an M.D. degree from Peking University Health Science Center, China, and a Ph.D. in cancer biology and molecular cancer therapeutics from the National University of Singapore. He subsequently received a postdoc training at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center focusing on breast cancer drug resistance and cancer metastasis, particularly brain metastasis.
The central theme of the Zhang laboratory is to explore molecular mechanisms of the dynamic co-evolution between tumor cells and tumor microenvironment (TME) during tumor development, drug resistance, and metastasis.
