Jonathan Clinger is an assistant professor at Baylor University in the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry, and his research is focused on protein structure and dynamics as they relate to function and catalysis. He has a broad background in biochemistry and biophysics, with a primary focus in structural biology and crystallography, acquired during his Ph.D. at Rice University in George Phillips's lab and his postdoctoral research at Cornell University with Robert Thorne. Dr. Clinger’s postdoctoral training focused on developing methods to capture dynamic structural data in X-ray crystallography and cryo-electron microscopy as well as making the acquisition of these data more straightforward. Lowering sample and experimental infrastructure requirements for these techniques will greatly accelerate scientific discoveries utilizing these methods.
