Dr. Ivanov is a biochemist and structural biologist whose research interests lie in the areas of immunology and cancer. Dr. Ivanov carried out his undergraduate studies at the University of St. Petersburg in Russia and at Northeastern University in Boston, and he holds B.S. degrees in physics from both institutions.
Dr. Ivanov completed his Ph.D. studies at Brandeis University under Dr. Alfred Redfield, one of the pioneers of NMR spectroscopy and a member of the National Academy of Sciences. During his doctoral studies Dr. Ivanov developed a novel field-cycling NMR technique for studies of quadrupolar nuclei in biological macromolecules.
