Lay Summary

In contrast to decreasing incidence of many cancer types, new cases of endometrial cancer are increasing, especially among Black, Hispanic, younger, and obese women. There is no effective screening for endometrial cancer so prevention is critical. Our goal is to prevent endometrial cancer by increasing knowledge and use of the levonorgestrel releasing intrauterine system (LNG IUS). LNG-IUS is a widely available device used for contraception or heavy vaginal bleeding. It is a safe and cost-effective way to prevent endometrial cancer.
